Evaluation process
The manuscripts received go through two evaluations, one internal and one external. The first is carried out by the editorial team, focusing on the following issues: adherence to the editorial guidelines; relevance of the content to the topics and approaches of the journal; and the quality of the writing, regarding both academic protocols and grammar and style.
The second evaluation is an anonymous, external peer review, considering: whether the topic is of interest; the clarity of the research problem; the presence of an empirical basis; the contribution and novelty of the conclusions; and the adequacy of the critical apparatus –notes and bibliography– to the subject and the problems addressed.
Once the manuscript has been approved by the editorial team based on the possible changes requested during the peer review process, the text is submitted to style correction and finally formatted and published online.
Critical reviews are evaluated by the editorial team considering whether they comply with the call for reviews.
